The monthly meeting of the Board of Water Commissioners was held at the office at 5 PM with all members present. Superintendent Chris Wiseman and Prudential committee member Amy Kates were also present.<\/p>\n
The July regular minutes were approved.<\/p>\n
The warrants were signed.<\/p>\n
Coliform testing results were \u201c0\u201d for June. MTBE results<\/p>\n
were also \u201c0.\u201d Additional information on water quality testing is available on the District\u2019s new website under \u201cCotuit Water Department, Consumer Confidence Report.\u201d<\/p>\n

PUMPAGE<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n July Pumpage\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2011\u00a0 – \u00a0\u00a0 34,928,000\u00a0 gal \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>2010 – \u00a0 41,224,000\u00a0 gal<\/p>\n \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026One new service was installed in Cotuit Meadows and one service was replaced on School Street.<\/p>\n \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026Servicemaster is nearly finished with the graffiti cleanup.<\/p>\n \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026More pricing information will be obtained on metal signs or \u201cwater restriction\u201d notification.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Discussion was held on the proposal from the GHD engineering firm, on the main extension to the Newtown Road tank.<\/p>\n Mr. Calise made a motion to award the contract to GHD for the design, bidding and construction of the water main from Rte. 28 through the Fire District\u2019s property to the new tank for water flow improvement, with Mr. Wiseman to re-negotiate the fee for services.\u00a0 Mr. Barnicle seconded the motion and it was so voted.<\/p>\n The Board signed an agreement with the Weston & Sampson engineering firm to provide services for bidding the paving of the access roadways to the wells. Mr. Wiseman will meet with firm rep. Tom Bolan to discuss the production schedule.<\/p>\n The proposal from the Weston & Sampson engineering firm for the design of a new Security system was discussed.\u00a0 The Board asked for a more detailed itemized breakdown of the total cost for September\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n Discussion was held on Sprint\u2019s proposed upgrades at the antenna site. A request by A T & T for re-permitting with the FAA was also discussed. Mr. Wiseman was asked to inquire about this procedure.<\/p>\n The 671 Main Street project will most likely be completed by the end of September.<\/p>\n Mr. Calise began the discussion on the use of solar power in the well fields.
