The monthly meeting of the Board of Water Commissioners was held at Freedom Hall at 5 PM with all members present. Superintendent Chris Wiseman was also present.<\/p>\n
The December minutes were approved.<\/p>\n
The warrants were signed.<\/p>\n
There was one coliform detection during the month.\u00a0 The chlorination process began immediately following the detection. Repeat samples were absent of coliform. Chlorination will continue until further notice. There were no MTBE detections for the month.<\/p>\n
The following information was included in the Superintendent\u2019s report:<\/p>\n
PUMPAGE<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 December \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2013<\/span>\u00a0 –<\/strong> 8,492,000 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 2012 – 7,829,000 \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026There was one new service installation and five replacement services.<\/p>\n \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026The reports on the monitoring wells at Stratford Ponds show that they are in compliance at the present time.<\/p>\n \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026The 3rd<\/sup> and final phase of development has begun in the Cotuit Meadows subdivision.<\/p>\n At 5:30 Leo Yuskus, from Haley & Ward and Peter Reynolds from McKenzie Engineering arrived to discuss their structural analysis report on the Main Street tank. They departed at 6:05.<\/p>\n Discussion continued on Open Cape\u2019s fiber optics contract which is still at Attorney Mann\u2019s office being reviewed for language refinement.\u00a0 Mr. Wiseman was asked to obtain prices to install fiber optics at the stations.<\/p>\n At 6:30, George Gamache, owner and developmental consultant of the 671 Main Street project, Bob Welch, project manager and Dan McGrath introduced themselves.\u00a0 They assured the Board that all the stipulations outlined in the easement to protect station #3 and surrounding watershed will be adhered to. Mr. McGrath stated that he would bring the latest septic plan to the water department office.\u00a0 They departed at 6:55 p.m.<\/p>\n Discussion continued on the West Street tank.\u00a0 Mr. Barnicle presented comparison costs of tearing down the tank versus refurbishing it.
