As the annual district meeting approaches we will be holding numerous informations sessions. These are a great opportunity to learn about the project to date, and to have any questions you may have answered.
The Cotuit Fire Department has been notified that The Cotuit Fire Department has  been notified that our grant application for the second round of the Firefighter Safety and Equipment Grant had been approved and that we would receive an award of $1,863.00.

Based on this award the Department will be able to purchase a new rescue saw which will replace an aged saw on E265.

Capt. Staggs, FF Deeg, and Paul Kispert display a Capt. Staggs, FF Deeg, and Paul Kispert display a handmade American flag. Paul, a retired trauma surgeon, crafted the flag himself. He and his wife, Maureen, donated the flag to the Cotuit Fire Department, where it will be proudly displayed at the fire station.

Best wishes to Captain Brent Lyons on his retireme Best wishes to Captain Brent Lyons on his retirement, effective 0800 hrs. On February 22nd, 2025. Brent was appointed to the Cotuit Fire Department as a Call FF/EMT on Sept. 8, 2001. Appointed to full time FF/EMT on August 23, 2004 and promoted on April 21, 3011. 

He was an active member of the department suiting his career coordinating community outreach with local schools and children’s programs, and was an outspoken advocate for first responder mental health.

Over the past week all members of the Cotuit Fire Over the past week all members of the Cotuit Fire Department participated in the annual cold water/ice rescue training.  This crucial training ensures our team is ready to respond swiftly and safely in the event of a cold water or ice rescue emergency. REMEMBER no ice is safe ice!
The Cotuit Fire Department is pleased to announce The Cotuit Fire Department is pleased to announce we were awarded $12,396.00 in grant funding through the Massachusetts Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program. These funds will be used to purchase new thermal imaging cameras for our apparatus. This equipment is used by firefighters to detect heat signatures through smoke and darkness l, allowing firefighters to locate fire sources, and victims. The new cameras will significantly enhance our safety and efficiency during firefighting operations.

Be sure to call the station prior to burning to check the weather conditions and if permits are being issued for the day. All are welcome to stop by the station to learn more about open burning safety and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
• Preferred Requirement Certification as a Paramedic in Massachusetts at the time of application or enrolled in a credentialed Paramedic program.
• At least 19 years of age at the time of application
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Free of felony convictions
• Ability to pass the Massachusetts Firefighter Fitness Medical Exam and Physical Ability Test upon hire
