Cotuit Fire Regulations
On Friday, August 11, Cotuit Fire Department was called at 10:36PM for a reported structure fire at 148 Hollow Road. The home had four occupants at the time of the fire. Units responded from Cotuit, Marstons Mills, and Mashpee Fire Stations. Barnstable Police were the first to arrive and evacuated the house. Upon location, we found a 36’ X 40’ home with an exterior fire which had extended to the interior of the first and second floor. The long narrow access road made getting resources to the scene difficult. The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries. The home sustained moderate damage. The fire originated in the area of the exterior electrical meter and is under investigation. Responding Agencies: Cotuit Fire, COMM Fire, Mashpee Fire, Barnstable Police, Barnstable Electrical inspector.
At 11:05PM Cotuit Fire received a call for a motor vehicle vs motor cycle with a vehicle fire. Cotuit Fire responded with an ambulance and COMM responded with an engine out of the Marstons Mills Fire Station. Upon location first responders found a collision of a motor cycle and a golf cart, with the golf cart upside down and fully involved in fire. There was a total of three patients, two with life threatening injuries and a third with serious injuries. Med flight was requested but cancelled due to the helicopter arrival time and need for immediate treatment. All three were transported to Cape Cod Hospital. Two were being treated and awaiting helicopter transport to an off Cape Trauma center. Barnstable PD responded, provided assistance and is investigating.
