FLUSHING NOTICE – WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8, 2015

Wednesday, April 8th – Flushing will continue in the well-field today at stations #1, #2 and #4.  It will then pick up at the Main Street tank located at 414 Main Street and end at 700 Main Street, just before Putnam Ave.

Flushing signs will be visible in these areas and residents are advised to refrain from laundering between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and are also advised to set water aside for drinking and cooking purposes.

All residents are advised to check water clarity before use as water lines outside of the flushing area could be affected.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE

HELP PROTECT THE CAPE COD DRINKING WATER SUPPLY THROUGH PROPER DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS WASTE

The Barnstable Transfer Station, located at 45 Flint Street in Marstons Mills, will be collecting household hazardous waste on the following dates from 9:00 a.m. to noon:  April 11th, June 27th, August 22nd, September 26th.

What to bring: Cleaners & Chemicals, Gasoline, Mercury Products, Oil-Based Paints, Polishes & Stains, Pesticides and Yard Chemicals.

The monthly meeting of the Board of Water Commissioners was held at The Cotuit Water Department at 5:00 p.m. All members were present. Superintendent Chris Wiseman was also in attendance.

Also present at the meeting was Russ Kleekamp, Andrew Casey and Greg Wirsen of Green Seal Environmental, and Dan Vortherms from Open Cape.

The meeting was called to order at 5:00pm.

COTUIT FIRE DISTRICT

WATER DEPARTMENT

The Board of Water Commissioners of the Cotuit Fire District invites applications for the position of Field Operator in the Water Department.  A Class D driver’s license is required.  A Class 1 Massachusetts Distribution license and a Class 1 Massachusetts Treatment license is desired, but the Department is willing to train a suitable unlicensed applicant.  Please sent cover letter and resume to Cotuit Water Department, PO Box 451, Cotuit, MA 02635 or drop off in person at 4300 Falmouth Road, Cotuit by Friday, February 6, 2015 at 4:30 pm.
